The Fitter HM Rollshop is responsible for performing fitting planned maintenance inspections, installation, repairs/replacement, fault finding, planned downtime maintenance and provide mechanical maintenance and breakdown support in the Hotmill and plant area to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency. Standby support after hours for Hot Mill and Plant area

Job Description

The Fitter is responsible for performing fitting planned maintenance inspections, installation, repairs/replacement, fault finding, planned downtime maintenance and provide mechanical maintenance and breakdown support in the Hotmill plant area and the operational plant area at large. In order to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency, and support after hours for the Hot Mill plant area, the fitter must be: 

  • Be pro-active, hard working and demonstrate high levels of flexibility 
  • Be able to work under pressure and give attention to detail
  • Be able to work without direct supervision 
  • Be a strong team player, be bilingual and have excellent communication skills.

    Job Requirements

    THE CANDIATE MUST BE:

  • Must be qualified Fitter
  • Must have at minimum an N3 with Maths and Science
  • Have at least 3-5 years experience post apprentice work experience as a Fitter
  • Have a good mechanical knowledge
  • Be computer literate
  • Be physically fit and not afraid of confined spaces and heights
  • Be willing to work overtime as requested
  • Must be willing to do standby
